Hi,
how can we help?

Need some help or have a burning question that you need answered? We’ve put together some frequently asked questions that we get asked about working with us and our services.

If you still have a questions that you can’t find the answer to, please use our contact us to drop us an email.

Pre-Purchase

I'm interested in working with you, how do we get started?

We love speaking to amazing women and welcoming them into the Your Website Solutions family. So you can organise a “Coffee Chat” with us or you can drop us a note via contact page.

Once we’ve had a chat, we’ll send through a proposal and invoice. Once you’re happy with our proposal, we require a 50% deposit so that we can schedule your work.

Do I need to be local to use your services?

Absolutely, not. By using the phone, email and the internet, we can communicate effectively with clients in any location.

What kind of information do I need before speaking to you?

It’s a good idea if you have a think about what you need or want to achieve from your website. Things to consider are what type of people will visit the site, what features and types of pages you’d like on your website.

Also, if you happen to have an idea for custom development, then we would need a more detailed list of requirements or a functional specification is a great start.

Do I need to have all my content ready before contacting you?

No, it’s not necessary to have all of your content prepared prior to our “Coffee Chat”. But it would help to have an idea of what you want, although we can provide you with some guidance to help you.

Once you’ve accepted our quote and to work with us, we’ll provide you with a checklist make it easier for you. We’ll also provide you with guidance on the type of text and images that would perform best on your website.

How much does a website cost?

We hear this often and there’s no simple answer to the question. While most of our custom sites are within $3,000 – $5,000, the cost really is dependent on your needs and the features you want. This is why we offer a free “Coffee Chat” so you can talk about your website needs. We’ll also ask you a lot of questions, assess your needs and then provide you with a quote.

How much input will I have in the process?

A lot, in fact, we encourage your involvement. Your input and feedback are crucial to the process and ensures your satisfaction with the end product.

Do you write the content?

This is one of the most important questions you need to ask when hiring a designer. Having a beautifully designed business collateral with content not written aimed at your clients will hinder attracting new clients. You need content that connects and converts with your target audience. If you don’t feel confident writing your own content, we can organise that on your behalf.

I've a limited budget. Do you offer any low cost options?

This is a question that many start-ups and smaller businesses ask. We understand that a custom website can be a big investment. This is why we offer a budget-friendly option which will help get you online with a nice looking website. You can find more information regarding our basic packages here.

Will you work on any hosting provider?

No. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of hosting providers, but not all hosting meets the minimum WordPress requirements. However, we’d be happy to help you determine which web hosting company and which web hosting package is the best for your requirements.

Your Preparation

What will I be required to provide you?

We will provide you with a list outlining the information we will require for your individual project. But normally we require the following information:

  • List of pages
  • Website content in either a Word document or plain text document
  • Photographs to be included and evidence you have permission to use the photographs
  • Business logo
  • Business details including business name, ABN/ACN, contact details, etc.
  • Login details for any existing web hosting and domain registrar accounts.
How can I provide the page text?

We prefer text content to be provided in either MSWord or plain text documents.

We prefer to receive the original format provided by your logo designer, which is normally either .EPS or .AI. If not available, we can usually use .JPG, .PNG or .GIF

In what format do I need to provide photos and images?

All photographs should be provided in .JPG format, with minimum dimensions of 1000px x 1000px. While you can be embedded within the Word.doc to show placement, we also require them attached in full scale separately to an email or upload to Dropbox. Other images, such as illustrations, icons, buttons etc. can be either .JPG, .PNG or .GIF.

Can I use photos and images I've found on the internet.

Depends. If you have sourced (and where required, paid) the images from a stock photography site such as Unsplash, Pexels or iStockphotos, then the answer is yes. But if you’ve found them on someone’s website or saved them off Googled and haven’t received permission from the owner, then the answer is no as you could be breaching copyright laws.

Payments & Guarantees

What are your payment terms?

We require a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve your start date on my calendar. The remaining 50% is due before publishing your site and you’re happy with your website.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We offer EFT and major credit cards. Our preference is for EFT deposits but we can also accept credit card payments.

Why do you require a 50% deposit?

When you buy a house, you need to put down a deposit so that the house is taken off the market. Similarly, when you ask us to design your website we need to “take time off the market” so to speak. The deposit guarantees your time slot and demonstrates your commitment to your project.

Are there any hidden costs?

No.

Before we start work, we provide you with a quote outlining our costs, which means you know exactly what you will pay.

The only time there would be additional costs is when a client requests a variance to the initial scope of works such as additional features or images for the website. The changes and additional costs are discussed with you before we proceed with the additional work.

Are there any recurring costs involved with owning a website?

Yes.

Often recurring costs aren’t discussed before starting your project but there will be some ongoing costs . At a minimum, there will be web hosting and domain name registration costs.

If you have asked us to maintain your website for you, there will be a monthly maintenance fee.

Our prefered providers are VentraIP Australia or Siteground.

We don’t have affiliate agreements with either of these companies nor do we earn anything by recommending these providers.

No.

Yes, of course. We can help you make changes to your domain settings so that it points to your new website.
